Socio-economic issues

The Eastern English Channel area, the main study area of the Éolien en Mer SIG, is an area of abundant human activity, with one of the highest levels of sea traffic in the world, marine sand and gravel extraction, highly developed professional fishing and the arrival of offshore wind farms. The health of the marine ecosystem and the marine economy are therefore interconnected and the Éolien en Mer SIG studies reflect the need to link these two components.
